The provision is good

Children are busy and active learners. They move confidently around the setting, which is organised well to meet the individual children's needs. The childminder supports children's physical development well. Children learn to balance and climb and aim at targets when playing with the ice, helping to develop more intricate skills. Children are confident when approaching these challenges and know to ask for help, should they need it. Children are settled and secure in the childminder's care. The childminder plans activities that stimulate children's curiosity well. For example, they enjoy finding lemons in the play dough and objects hidden in the ice. The childminder offers different experiences, such as visits to local places and groups, to help build children's confidence and social skills in readiness for school. Children behave well. The childminder reminds them to use good manners, share and take turns. Children show consideration towards each other, particularly when

training and updates from the local authority. The childminder has a good awareness of the procedures for recording and reporting any concerns that she may have to the relevant agencies. She carries out ongoing risk assessments to help ensure that her home is safe and secure for children. n The childminder incorporates some mathematics into activities and routines of the setting. For example, she supports children with their knowledge of colours as they explore yellow objects, such as play dough and lemons. She uses words such as 'more' 'under' and 'over' as children ride around on push-along bikes and use the see-saw. n The childminder uses her assessments of children's progress to help plan activities and experiences to help their learning. Children show good concentration, for example, as they explore ice and learn to use pipettes.

Despite this, children make good progress and any gaps in learning are identified and quickly closed. n The childminder implements strategies to promote children's good health. For example, she encourages them to wash their hands before eating and talks to them about healthy food choices.
