Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 23 May 2024, the provider notified us that she had lost a pre-school child while walking home after collecting children from school. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of significant incidents.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 24 May 2024, we carried out a regulatory telephone call. We found that the provider was not meeting some of the requirements at the time of the incident and had taken action to put this right. The provider has implemented more effective procedures to make sure she adequately supervises children at all times, specifically to ensure that she can always see and hear children when on outings. The provider has reviewed and enhanced her risk assessment to make sure children are kept safe on outings and has put measures in place to minimise risks and hazards.
p.1
Summary of outcome
During the regulatory telephone call, we also found the provider was not meeting a requirement. We have issued an action for the provider to take.
p.1
Summary of outcome
n Secure a clear understanding of what to do when you have concerns about children's learning and development, which includes consideration and involvement of any additional support that may help children make good progress.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 20 June 2024, the provider responded to the action set. They explained they had completed additional training to help their understanding of what to do when they identify a child with emerging gaps in their learning and development. The provider confirmed they had started working more closely with their local authority to continue their professional development.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
