p.1

The provision is outstanding

Children thrive in this environment because the childminder has a deep understanding of their needs. He has the highest expectations for all children and encourages them to take on age-appropriate tasks independently. Even the youngest children persist when faced with challenges, such as when locating and putting on their shoes. Their confidence levels are extremely high because they know that the childminder is there to provide support if necessary. As a result, children flourish and succeed. The childminder works very closely with his co- childminder to supervise children without impeding their curiosity and imagination. This makes children feel extremely safe and secure.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

The childminder has a clear curriculum plan for all children. He is extremely dedicated to fostering children's personal, social and emotional development. Along with his co-childminder, he teaches children the importance of kindness and respect for others. Children show great care and consideration towards their friends. For example, after vigorous exercise, older children remind the younger ones to drink water for their health. Children behave extremely well. The childminder's cheerful disposition has a great positive effect on children's emotional well-being. This promotes high levels of happiness and motivation for learning in children.

n The childminder is fully committed to ensuring the best care and education for all children. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, he has evaluated his workload with his co-childminder and increased their support for each other's well-being. Additionally, the childminder and his co-childminder now share more information and photographs with parents to further encourage their involvement in their children's development. These changes have a very positive impact on children. n The childminder plans a comprehensive curriculum that covers the seven areas of learning. He shares detailed observations and assessments with his co- childminder to swiftly identify and address any learning gaps in children. This helps ensure that children, including those who are entitled to funding, make significant progress from their starting points. For instance, children with limited spoken language skills are making rapid and secure improvements in their

language abilities. n The childminder is dedicated to his professional growth. After training, he learned to seize every opportunity to enhance children's mathematical and problem-solving abilities. This gives children great confidence in using numbers and shapes during their play. n The childminder helps children develop their individual personalities and characters. He provides them with rich experiences of playing and socialising with others in different situations. This also teaches children about communities

23 May 2024 beyond their own. The impact of this is particularly evident in children who previously lacked social confidence. These children are now adept at engaging with others, including unfamiliar adults. n Children are remarkably self-sufficient for their age. They demonstrate responsibility and maturity beyond their years. For example, children easily master hand-washing tasks and are capable of taking care of their own water bottles. They understand the importance of staying hydrated and know about the effects of exercise on their bodies. Children gain excellent knowledge about how to lead a healthy lifestyle. n The partnership between the childminder and parents is excellent. The childminder consistently and effectively communicates with parents. He provides them with relevant and detailed information about their children's progress. Parents express that communication is a significant strength of the setting. They

are highly appreciative of the outstanding level of care and support that both they and their children receive. n The childminder ensures that children have opportunities to reinforce what they already know and can do. For instance, he knows that children have previously learned how to take part in races and obstacle courses. The childminder motivates children to practise their newly-acquired skills. During outdoor play, he expands on children's skills by challenging them to perform different physical movements. n Children's behaviour is excellent. They play together extremely well, and conflicts between them are very rare. This is a tribute to the exceptional support children receive from the childminder and his co-childminder.
