p.1
The provision is outstanding
The childminder provides an effective, ambitious curriculum that engages and excites children. She is very clear on the foundations of her curriculum and her priority on supporting confidence, independence, and communication skills. The childminder uses her expertise to implement a superbly sequenced curriculum to develop and embed children's knowledge and skills. For instance, the children observe the growth of caterpillars closely with large magnifying glasses. They compare the size and different features they see from week to week. Young children use complex language as they discuss and know that caterpillars have 'antennae and six legs'. They talk about how the 'cocoon' will turn into a butterfly, as they recall reading the book, 'The Hungry Caterpillar'.

The childminder provides high-quality activities and interactions, which ignite children's love of learning and manages children's behaviour superbly. This helps children feel secure and build very strong, trusting relationships with the childminder, and their friends. The childminder supports children to learn to manage their feelings and behaviour effectively by introducing them to different emotions and self-regulation techniques. Children behave extremely well and show care and respect for others.

She teaches children how to put their coats and shoes on from a young age. Children are entirely self-assured and fiercely independent. For instance, they demonstrate sustained concentration as they flip their coats over their head and then place each arm in carefully. n Early literacy skills are rooted through inspiring activities. For instance, while using fishing nets to scoop up play fish and lettered pebbles, the childminder encourages the children to recognise the sounds some letters make. This exciting opportunity significantly supports children's literacy skills and gives them
