p.1
The provision is outstanding
Children are very happy and thrive during their time at this vibrant, friendly childminding setting. The childminder supports children and their families incredibly well. For example, she works closely with parents of children who speak English as an additional language to support their language development and social skills.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The childminder teaches children how to keep themselves safe exceptionally well. For instance, she uses every opportunity to help them learn about risks, and talks with them about how accidents can happen. She shares her thoughts with children as she assesses the risks with them during activities. For example, they talk about 'stranger danger' reading the 'Little Red Riding Hood' story. Before they go out in the local community they talk about road safety and over lunch they discuss how to stay safe using technology. Children are developing a very strong sense of how to keep themselves and others safe. The childminder recognises the needs and behaviours of each child in her care. She uses this understanding very effectively to anticipate and prevent any accidents or security risks.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
Children's behaviour is exemplary. The childminder has clear expectations which children consistently follow. For example, children know that they must share the resources and happily start the sand timer together to help them do this. Children are incredibly kind and caring, for example, they give their favourite superhero toy to a friend to please them. They have an excellent understanding of emotions because the childminder talks about feelings using their favourite toys and dolls. This very effectively helps children understand how others feel.

Additionally, parents share children's books and resources they have enjoyed in the day. They say this has helped encourage their child's skills in speaking and storytelling. n The caring childminder puts excellent attention on the personal welfare of all children. Children are confident and eager to share what they know with her. They enthusiastically voice their thoughts and ideas to other children and visitors. through many different opportunities for making marks. Older children attempt to write and draw their own stories. She works hard with each child to have an effective pencil grip to help them build on their developing writing skills. The fun, uniformed approach helps children achieve this effectively and this helps them to be ready for writing letters in school. Even younger children recognise their names and the sounds some letters make. For example, children shout out the letters they recognise on vehicle number plates as they walk to the local library. n The childminder has a strong focus on her continued professional development. She is constantly reflecting and completing online training and research. This has a positive impact on the quality of teaching and the continuous improvement of children's learning experiences, in particular for children who speak English as an additional language. Her ability to speak several languages, her focus on helping
