p.1

The provision is outstanding

Children transition smoothly from their parents and carers and promptly settle into their day, eagerly exploring the richly resourced environment with enthusiasm. The childminder has an exceptional understanding of the children in her care. She skilfully recognises children's next steps in learning and designs an ambitious curriculum to meet their individual needs. Children eagerly participate in exciting activities and demonstrate a strong sense of confidence. From an early age, children exhibit impressive independent-thinking skills and problem-solving abilities. For example, children count objects to share them with other children, ensuring that each child receives a fair share.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

Children display genuine delight in listening to stories and rhymes. They display outstanding learning attitudes, fully immersing themselves in enriching experiences provided by the childminder. For instance, they engage in a variety of activities while listening to a story, utilising diverse props and resources to enrich the story further. This allows children to concentrate for sustained periods of time.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

The childminder is constantly teaching the children how the world works. They enjoy new experiences, such as riding on a train, exploring different cultures during visits to Chinatown, and enjoying trips to the local museum. They engage in cooking activities and have prepared dishes from around the world, including Caribbean and Chinese foods. This helps foster an appreciation of different cultures in children. The childminder ignites children's curiosity about nature by teaching them about the changes that happen in the environment. For example, she intentionally leaves one of the plants without water, providing an opportunity for children to engage in meaningful discussions about the changes observed.

If a child displays any developmental delays, the childminder acts promptly and collaborates with parents to implement agreed interventions. As a result, the children make excellent progress. n The childminder is highly proactive in her professional growth, actively pursuing opportunities to improve her own knowledge and skills. For example, she has engaged in additional training that aligns with her ambitious curriculum to

The childminder shares information to support parents by signposting them to access available help when needed. n The childminder effectively builds children's independence skills. She motivates them to feed themselves and even young children are encouraged to use utensils. They sing 'Happy Birthday' as they wash their hands before eating or
