Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 14 August 2023, we received concerns that the childminder was not meeting some of these requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We suspended the childminder's registration on 15 August 2023 because we believed children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the childminder to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The childminder has a right to appeal against a suspension. The childminder may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 30 August 2023 the childminder appealed the decision to suspend registration. This appeal was withdrawn on 8 September 2023.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 26 September 2023 we extended the suspension while other agencies completed their investigations. This was extended further on 7 November 2023.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 7 December 2023, Ofsted carried out a regulatory interview. After review of further documentary evidence and following the interview, we found the childminder was not meeting some of the requirements. The childminder had not followed safeguarding procedures when they identified concerns about children's welfare. They did not seek professional advice to support children who may have additional needs. They did not manage children's behaviour appropriately. We found the childminder had failed to notify Ofsted of several significant events, which is a requirement of their registration.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 19 December 2023 we extended the suspension as other agencies had not completed their investigations and we needed to obtain other information. The suspension was to run until midnight on 29 January 2024.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 26 January 2024, the childminder notified us of their intention to resign their registration. At this time, Ofsted had not completed all our enquiries. We intended on extending the suspension for a further period to enable our enquiries to be made. In addition, we intended on serving a notice of intention to cancel the childminder's registration. The childminder's resignation request was accepted while enquiries remained ongoing.
