Report for childcare on domestic premises

p.1

This provision does not meet requirements

n The provider explains her revised risk assessment procedures, including for the dogs. However, she does not explain sufficiently well how she will help children to understand how to manage their own safety, including when dogs are around them. n The provider describes the steps she has taken to improve and develop her service. She explains, for example, how she has adjusted mealtime routines to reduce waiting times for children. She describes how she has reorganised the playroom to give children increased space and learning opportunities. n The provider describes the steps she has taken to ensure that the premises are not accessible to unauthorised persons. She explains her arrangements to check the suitability of her staff and potential tenants. Attendance records now show the names of each child's key person. The provider explains how this helps her to check that there are sufficient staff to care for children.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

n The provider describes the settling-in arrangements for children. She explains how information is exchanged with parents, including assessments of children's learning. The provider knows what to do if children do not progress as expected. She describes how staff work with parents and other professionals to help close gaps in children's learning. n The provider describes how children's dietary and personal care needs are met. She understands the importance of providing children with nutritious meals and daily exercise in fresh air. The provider explains how behaviour is managed in the setting and understands the differing needs and abilities of children.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
