How well children and young people are helped and protected: good
The use of restraint is always a last resort that is only ever used to protect a child from harm. Staff are trained in behaviour management, and this enables them to respond to the behaviours of the child safely. There have been no issues with any children going missing from the home. However, staff are always alert to the possibility of such incidents occurring. Inspection report for children’s home: 2726823 3 There has been one occasion where a room search was conducted by staff. However, the recording of this did not contain sufficient detail. This does not enable leaders and managers to have sufficient oversight of incidents. As a result, a recommendation is made in respect of this issue.
p.2
How well children and young people are helped and protected: good
Staff are trained in child protection and know how to deal with any allegations and suspected abuse. Significant incidents are reported to the appropriate authorities to ensure that children are supported and protected from harm. There have been no complaints or allegations, and no concerns were raised by the child during this inspection.
p.3
How well children and young people are helped and protected: good
Staff employed to care for children are subject to robust safer recruitment checks. This safeguards children and protects them from harm.
