need to do better?
5 December 2023 n Staff promote effective hygiene practices. For example, the children know that they need to wash their hands before their snack. Staff provide children with a good range of nutritious snacks, such as fresh fruit, ham, chicken, and cheese wraps. Mealtimes are social occasions. Children sit around the table together and staff talk about the foods they are eating, encouraging them to try new foods. n The provider and staff develop good partnerships with parents. A range of information is gathered from the child's parents before their child attends the club. For example, information about known food allergies and preferences. Additionally, information is shared about the children's time at the club when they are collected. Parents state that they are happy with the care and play opportunities their children receive. n

Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.
p.3
Safeguarding
The provider and staff demonstrate a secure understanding of the procedures to keep children safe. They regularly attend training to enhance their safeguarding knowledge. Staff confidently recognise different types of abuse and neglect, and know how to report concerns about a child's welfare. This includes what action to take if an allegation of abuse is made against a member of staff. The provider follows secure recruitment procedures to ensure all staff are suitable to work with children. Daily risk assessment checks are also completed to ensure all areas are safe and secure. Children are closely supervised at all times and younger children are safely collected from their classroom at the end of the school day.
