The childminder has created an exceptionally well-structured curriculum that is expertly designed around their unique interests and abilities. The childminder nurtures children's curiosity and eagerness to learn through experiences that promote discovery and exploration. For instance, children are intrigued to examine a real-life spider in the garden. They delight in making links to the songs the childminder has been teaching them. Children practise using new vocabulary, such as 'minute' and 'tiny', to describe the spider's size. The childminder encourages them to engage deeply in conversation and discussion. n The childminder is an excellent role model. Her playful and enthusiastic approach inspires children to be creative and imaginative, as she joins in and fully immerses herself in children's play. For instance, children work together to explore the endless creative possibilities that they could use a crate or a magnetic block for. They pretend the crates are vehicles and platforms. They talk about the 'rockets' and 'tunnels' they have designed with magnetic blocks and deeply engage in these imaginative experiences. The childminder follows their lead while skilfully ensuring that every moment is a rich and meaningful learning opportunity. n The childminder understands the incredible importance of teaching children to express their own feelings and emotions. She weaves this into her teaching and everyday interactions. For example, the childminder talks to children about being gentle as they play together, and children have opportunities to talk about how

This allowed children to explore the different equipment they might encounter when they go to a dental surgery. They develop their knowledge of different professions and gain important understanding of why we go to the dentist and how to keep teeth healthy. n The childminder places the utmost importance on encouraging children's independence. She includes children in daily routines, giving them important tasks to be helpful, such as preparing the table for lunch.
