p.1
Information about this children’s home
The manager has been registered with Ofsted since the home opened on 12 February 2019.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 5 September 2023, an assurance inspection was carried out at the home. This was due to a serious incident taking place. Serious concerns were identified at that inspection. As a result, the provider was issued a notice restricting their accommodation. Following the inspection, the organisation provided Ofsted with an action plan in relation to providing safe care for a child who was living at the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
On 14 September 2023, a monitoring visit was carried out at the home. The purpose of the visit was to assess the provider’s progress against the action plan submitted to Ofsted. At the monitoring visit, the inspector found that none of the proposed actions identified in the action plan had been addressed or completed. Furthermore, additional serious concerns were identified. Following the monitoring visit, the provider was issued with a notice suspending their registration.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this monitoring visit was to monitor the provider’s compliance with the suspension notice and assess the progress against the action plan. External investigations regarding the serious incident remained ongoing at the time of the visit. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2504775 2 Leaders and managers demonstrate reflection and learning since the previous monitoring visit. They have implemented an improvement plan that is kept up to date with their progress. The plan identifies relevant areas of development that are required to provide safe care for children. However, progress against the plan is in the early stages and is not yet fully implemented. Therefore, the provider is not yet ready to move children into the home. Consequently, the suspension notice remains in place.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Leaders and managers continue to develop and implement changes to children’s care plans. This includes ensuring that relevant information is included in children’s care plans and risk assessments so that they are tailored to their individual needs. This includes health assessment forms being completed by parents and relevant health care professionals. However, this work is still in progress and has not yet been completed.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The responsible individual has met with all staff to review their practice and assess their understanding of children’s care planning. Team meetings have been arranged with an increased frequency, and plans have been made for staff to attend additional training. However, this training is yet to take place.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Senior leaders have not yet established monitoring systems to ensure that there is effective oversight of the quality of care for children. However, they have started to look at how this can be improved and are in the early stages of delivering what is needed to make the necessary improvements.
p.2
This monitoring visit
At the last inspection, the provider was asked to improve fire safety measures and ensure that staff check visitors’ identities before coming into the home. Both of these requirements have been met. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2504775 3
