This monitoring visit
At the full inspection of the home on 28 and 29 June 2023, inspectors identified significant and widespread shortfalls in safeguarding practice, the leadership and management of the home and the quality of care provided to children. The home was judged inadequate.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Due to these concerns, Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation at the home. The notice had immediate effect from 29 June 2023 to 20 September 2023. Ofsted also issued three compliance notices under section 22A of the Care Standards Act. These notices relate to Regulation 12, the protection of children standard, Regulation 13, the leadership and management standard and Regulation 14, the care planning standard.

This monitoring visit
Visits were carried out to monitor the provider’s compliance with the notice on 10 and 19 July 2023. A further monitoring visit was carried out on 25 and 26 July 2023. Inspectors found that risks to children were increasing. Shortfalls remained in respect of safeguarding practice and the leadership and management of the home. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2635351 2 Due to these concerns, Ofsted issued a notice suspending the registration of the home. This notice had immediate effect from 26 July 2023 to 17 October 2023 inclusive.
p.1
This monitoring visit
A monitoring visit was carried out on 6 September 2023 to monitor the suspension notice. At that time, there was no manager for the home. At the case review held following this visit, it was determined that the notice suspending the registration of the home should remain in place.

Since the registration was suspended, staff have been placed on a temporary lay-off. Some staff have continued to work for the company and have been committed to attending training that has been provided for them.
p.2
This monitoring visit
At this time, the provider is not clear who will be returning to their substantive posts. Some staff have already confirmed that they will be returning to their roles. However, this staff group would not be sufficient to provide safe and effective care for six children.
p.2
This monitoring visit
A case review was held following this visit. It was determined at the case review that the notice suspending the registration of the home could be lifted.
p.2
This monitoring visit
However, due to the above factors, Ofsted believes that the provider cannot provide safe and effective care for more than one child at this time. Ofsted has therefore varied the provider’s conditions of registration so that they may care for one child.
