This provision does not meet requirements

n This was the childminder's first inspection since she registered. She currently has no children on roll, as she is returning from maternity leave. She is aware that she has allowed her first-aid certificate to lapse, which is a breech of the statutory requirements, but plans to complete it as soon as possible. n The childminder knows how to develop parental partnerships. She explained how she does this by having daily conversations with parents and keeping them informed through regular daily updates and pictures using an app. She also encourages parents to continue their child's learning at home, by offering them ideas and suggestions about things they might like to do with them, such as taking home favourite stories. n The childminder recognises the importance of having high expectations of children. She explains how she models behaviours that children can follow, such as saying please and thank you to each other and using good manners with

them. For example, she also teaches them how to share and take turns by playing games with them and reminding them why it is important and fair to wait for your turn. n The childminder knows the importance of getting to know children well. She finds out information about each child before they start, to help plan activities around their interest to help them settle. Then she continues to get to know them well and uses what she knows about them to plan activities that help them to learn and move on to the next stage of their learning. n The childminder has regard for children's safety, she understands her role in keeping children safe from harm. She recognises the signs and symptoms that indicate children may be at risk and who to contact. The childminder has risk assessments in place to ensure the premises are suitable and safe for children to use. She helps children to understand how they can keep themselves safe. For

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
