Report for childcare on domestic premises
p.1
This provision does not meet requirements
n The provider does not evaluate their service effectively enough to identify breaches to requirements of the early years foundation stage (EYFS). The provider failed to provide Ofsted with the required information to carry out suitability checks for adults working on domestic premises. Three adults who have not been cleared and vetted regularly work with children. In addition, the provider does not keep the required records for the staff she employs. This compromises children's safety and welfare. There are occasions when there are not enough qualified staff to work with children. This has a negative impact on children's learning. n The provider does not have effective arrangements for induction, and staff do not fully understand their roles and responsibilities within the setting. For example, the provider does not ensure that staff complete safeguarding training to gain knowledge of relevant child protection procedures. In addition, the

provider does not focus on support for staff, including their professional development needs. This has a significant impact on children's learning and development. n Some staff have not received training to help them understand the procedures to follow should they have a concern about a child or an adult working with children in line with the local safeguarding partnership. This compromises children's safety and well-being. n The provider does not have public liability insurance in place, as required, to cover all premises from which they provide childcare. The provider also fails to meet other legal obligations and operates without planning permission from a local council. This means that the premises are currently unsuitable for childcare activities. n The provider and staff have a poor knowledge and understanding of how to plan and implement a broad curriculum for all children. This includes children with

special educational needs and/or disabilities and those who speak English as an additional language. In addition, staff have limited skills to build on children's communication and language development. This means that children cannot make the progress they are capable of and are not ready to move on to the next stage of their learning. n The provider knows how to support children's understanding of how to lead healthy lifestyles, including through a balanced and nutritious diet and regular access to fresh air. Staff know how to teach children about regular teeth brushing. n The provider understands the importance of working in partnership with parents and those involved in children's learning to provide consistency in their care and development. n Staff and the provider know how to model positive behaviour to children and teach them about kindness and respect for others.

This provision does not meet requirements
1 September 2023 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
