p.1

The provision is outstanding

Giving children the best possible start to their early education in a loving and secure environment is central to all that the childminder does. She seizes every possible moment as an opportunity for learning while allowing children the time to think, explore and absorb their learning at their own pace. The childminder's patient and creative approach to delivering her curriculum is what makes her setting so unique.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

The childminder is extremely sensitive during her interactions with children and has exceptionally high expectations of what they can achieve. As a result, children have a tremendous sense of confidence in their own abilities and tackle challenges with determination and persistence. The childminder is an excellent role model. Children mirror her calm, cooperative and respectful approach in all they do. They resist frustration and show excellent self-control of their emotions. Children succeed and make excellent progress.

p.2

The provision is outstanding

The childminder uses songs and rhymes in every aspect of her daily routine and to underpin her entire curriculum, which she delivers with passion. Young children are able to count past 10 and begin to understand how number relates to volume through consistent use of number rhymes. They joyfully sing the alphabet song as they make marks on the chalk board, attempting to copy words they can see. Children use a wide vocabulary and begin to form sentences from a very young age. This is owing to the firm language structures that they learn through the songs they sing and hear throughout the day.

n The childminder has a comprehensive understanding of each child in her care. She fully understands what children currently know and can do. She plans carefully and thoughtfully for the skills they are yet to master. As a result, children are rapidly gaining the skills and knowledge they need for their future learning. n The childminder's ambitious and stimulating curriculum is rooted within communication and language. The day is full of narration from the childminder and the introduction of new words. Songs are incorporated into every activity and routine. As a result, children consistently show they understand complex instructions and demonstrate superb language skills from a very young age. Their rapid communication skills lay firm foundations for all other learning. n The childminder's passion for early years and expert knowledge of how children learn is underpinned by her commitment to her own professional development

5 September 2023 expert teaching of her curriculum. n Partnership working with parents is the staple for the exceptional care and learning the childminder provides for all children. She is committed to ensuring trusting relationships with parents to encourage a strong two-way-flow of communication and information sharing. The childminder views children's learning as a collaborative approach. As such, she ensures that parents have a wealth of information about how they can promote children's learning at home. In turn, she uses information from parents to fully inform her own planning. n Children are entirely self-assured and fiercely independent. They complete complicated tasks with ease, owing to the childminder's clear and well- communicated instructions that are complemented with gentle modelling. For example, children concentrate as they observe and then copy the multi-step task of connecting wheels to a car with a nut and bolt. They determinedly and

independently join the parts together. Children's resilience is admirable. n The childminder is an advocate for celebrating and respecting the uniqueness in others. Her commitment to developing children's character is exemplary. Younger children learn about respect for others through their own voices being highly valued. They progress to learning about differences through thoughtful conversation, exposure to rich experiences and a wealth of diverse resources. Children become accepting and understanding members of society.

Safeguarding

The arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

p.3

Safeguarding

The childminder is proactive in seeking opportunities to strengthen and broaden her safeguarding knowledge and skills. This includes from a range of resources and differing perspectives to give her an all-round view of keeping children safe. She is able to assess risks to children and carefully consider how best to minimise these. The childminder provides a secure environment for children, both physically and emotionally. Children learn important safety rules, such as sitting at the table to eat and cutting up their food to help it cool. These rules are embraced by members of the childminder's family also. This helps to embed these safe practices for children.
