p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This home is run by a private organisation and is registered for up to three children. There were no children living at the home at the time of the inspection.
p.1
This monitoring visit
During a full inspection on 24 and 25 March 2023, inspectors identified significant shortfalls in safeguarding practice, care planning and leadership and management. As a result, three compliance notices were issued, under Section 22A of the Care Standards Act. These related to regulation 12, the protection of children standard and regulation 13, the leadership and management standard, and regulation 14, the care planning standard.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The focus of this monitoring visit was to ensure that the provider has adhered to the compliance notices. These compliance notices have been met.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, two children have moved out of the home. The provider has informed Ofsted of their intention to keep the home closed so that a manager and additional staff can be recruited and trained.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, additional managers have been allocated to work within the home. This has involved a senior manager undertaking a quality assurance role to secure improvement in practice in the home. The additional management support led to children receiving a consistent level of care, prior to them moving out of the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Managers and staff have accessed further training to meet children’s needs and manage risks. This means that children were cared for by staff who knew how to keep them safe. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: SC476083 2 Managers and staff have responded appropriately to safeguarding concerns. Staff have sought the involvement of social care professionals so that decisions are made on a multi-agency basis.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Ofsted has imposed a condition on the provider’s registration that means that they must notify Ofsted three months in advance of when they are ready for children to move into the home. This will allow the provider a period of time to complete the necessary recruitment and training of a manager and staff team.
