n The childminder is fully aware of her responsibility to keep children safe and protect them from possible harm. She knows what action to take if she believes a child may be at risk of abuse. She understands how important it is to teach children how to keep themselves safe. For example, she talks about teaching children about road safety, including when they are on outings. n The childminder talks about how she manages risk in her current home. She is moving to a new house and understands the importance of completing a new risk assessment before children attend. n The childminder describes the type of activities that she will plan that build on children's interests and promote their independence. For example, counting the steps outside as children walk up and down. She understands how to manage children's behaviour and teach them to be kind to each other. n The childminder describes how she would teach children about healthy lifestyles.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

She talks about providing nutritious meals and taking the children for walks in the local forest to get fresh air and exercise. n The childminder talks about the importance of working with parents and sharing information. For example, she plans to gather information from parents about their children when they start. She would give them regular feedback on their children's progress. n The childminder recognises the importance of keeping her skills and knowledge up to date. She has completed a range of training courses, which includes paediatric first aid and safeguarding.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
