p.1
Information about this residential family centre
This residential family centre is privately owned. It is registered to provide care and accommodation for five families. The centre provides parenting assessments that take a minimum of 12 weeks.

The manager has been registered since June 2022.
p.1
Inspection date: 6 July 2023
Date of previous inspection: 23 May 2023
p.1
This monitoring visit
Following a full inspection on 23 May 2023, Ofsted served a compliance notice in relation to shortfalls in the leadership and management of the centre. On 6 July 2023, Ofsted conducted a monitoring visit. The purpose of this visit was to establish the provider’s progress in meeting the steps set out in the compliance notice. The inspector found that the provider has taken action to meet all the steps set out in the compliance notice.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Following the last inspection, the management team has changed significantly. The registered manager has resigned, and a new supporting manager and deputy manager who work for the organisation are assisting with the management of the centre. These are interim arrangements, and neither of these staff have direct residential family centre experience. However, these managers recognise safeguarding concerns and have supported the responsible individual in implementing the management action plan. This action plan is being realised at a satisfactory pace. The original timescales were not achievable; however, several of the actions have been met. The responsible individual has appointed a new manager who has ample experience of managing a family centre. This appointment has been agreed and will commence following the registered manager’s notice period. Inspection report for residential family centre - monitoring visit: Resicare Alliance 2
p.1
This monitoring visit
Following incidents that are notifiable, corresponding notifications have been sent to Ofsted within a reasonable time frame, and without delay. This ensures that Ofsted is aware of all incidents at the centre.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The provider understands that families must be formally assessed as safe and suitable for communal living. Although there have been no new families, a template has been devised to help managers make decisions about a new family’s suitability. The template is adequate, but is not designed for a family centre. The scoring system is complicated and contradictory. Therefore, while some work has been done, this needs to be refined to ensure it will work to assess new families.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The risk assessments for families now include recent incidents, dates and associated risks. This is progress from before, when incidents were not captured on risk assessments. The responsible individual has reflected on the layout and categorisation of risk assessments, and asked that these be adapted further. However, overall, these risk assessments have improved and include any incidents that would elevate risks.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Records sampled show that there are enough staff to update the daily records and report on incidents. The staff are recording incidents and accidents, making referrals, and notifying Ofsted, social workers and parents when required. These records are monitored with more care now to ensure that staff understand their responsibility to record and report.
p.2
This monitoring visit
The responsible individual has offered further training for staff, and set out an expectation that they attend. This helps to ensure that staff have the skills that they need.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Out of the seven requirements raised at the last inspection, three have not been met and have been restated. Three have been met and one was not due, and therefore will be reviewed and tested at the next inspection. The two recommendations were not reviewed as part of this visit and are restated.
