Summary of outcome
Childminders registered on the compulsory and voluntary parts of the Childcare Register must meet the legal requirements These can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/childminders-on-the-compulsory-childcare-register-ofsted- requirements If we find that a childminder is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right. On 16 May 2023, we received concerns that this childminder was not meeting some of these requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We suspended the provider's registration because we believed children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We found that the childminder had failed to notify Ofsted of changes in the household. A household member moved in a few years ago. This individual has now had their suitability checks verified by Ofsted. In addition, there have been changes in the childminder's health which we were also not made aware of. We have now completed medical checks to ensure the childminder remains suitable. It is an offence not to notify Ofsted of these changes within 14 days.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We also found that the childminder did not hold an appropriate first-aid qualification. We issued a notice of action to improve which required the childminder to take the required action by 23 June 2023:
p.1
Summary of outcome
n ensure at least one person looking after children has an appropriate first aid qualification.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We have now lifted the suspension because the provider took appropriate action to deal with the matter that led to the suspension, and we are satisfied that there is now no risk of harm to children. In addition, the childminder also completed an appropriate training course and holds an appropriate first-aid qualification. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this. The childminder is still registered with Ofsted.
