Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 18 May 2023, the provider notified us of a significant event. The notification means that the childminder met their legal responsibility as set out in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage' to notify Ofsted of any significant event which could impact on the suitability of any person who cares for children. On 19 May 2023, we also received information from the local authority safeguarding partnership relating to this matter.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 24 May 2023, we carried out a regulatory visit and found the childminder was not meeting some of the requirements. We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out.
p.1
Summary of outcome
n update knowledge and understanding of appropriate behaviour management techniques, including when it is appropriate to use physical intervention, and ways to support children to understand and manage their feelings and behaviour
p.1
Summary of outcome
n undertake upto-date training to improve knowledge and understanding of the action to take if an allegation is made, and if inappropriate behaviour is witnessed by other professionals towards children
p.1
Summary of outcome
n ensure that risk assessments for outings identify all hazards which may arise and identify the steps to be taken to minimise and manage those risks and hazards. On 16 June 2023, we carried out an inspection. We found that the childminder had taken appropriate steps to meet the requirements by updating her understanding of when physical intervention is appropriate and should be used. She has improved her knowledge and understanding of the process to follow if an allegation is made, or if she witnesses inappropriate behaviour by another professional, and has reviewed and updated all risk assessments for outings so that they are more robust. We took no further action. We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The provider will be able to give parents further information about this. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
p.2
