The manager registered with Ofsted in November 2021.
p.1
This monitoring visit
A compliance notice was served following the last full inspection. This was due to concerns that children were being physically held by staff who had not had the required level of training for the holds being used. Staff were also recording physical intervention holds as unrecognised holds.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The purpose of this monitoring visit was to review the actions taken by the provider to meet the compliance notice. This monitoring visit took place on site.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Progress has been made since the last inspection. Records now no longer refer to the use of unrecognised holds. Physical intervention records have been revised by the provider and clearly state the names of holds that the training supports staff to carry out. Records show that improvements have been made to ensure that the recording of physical interventions is clear, and records evidence how children have been supported.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last inspection, there have been incidents of a child being physically held. Records evidence that the staff leading these interventions had the required level of training. For staff who had not received the level of training required to undertake the level of hold, alternative trained staff intervened on all but one occasion. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: SC456537 2 Additional training in physical interventions has been completed by the majority of the staff team, including the manager. The remainder of the staff team is due to complete the training imminently. This means that the whole staff team will be trained in holding children in the levels of hold that they may require on occasion, to keep them safe. Therefore, the compliance notice in relation to the help and protection of children is assessed to have been met.

This monitoring visit
The remaining requirements are repeated from the last inspection, as these were not explored as part of this monitoring visit. Similarly, a number of recommendations are also repeated, as these issues have not been explored. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: SC456537 3
