The provision is outstanding
The childminder provides a welcoming, homely atmosphere and children show that they feel extremely safe and secure as they join the childminder to welcome visitors at the door. Parents comment that the childminder provides a safe, nurturing environment and praise her and her assistant for their 'warmth and professionalism'.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
All children thrive here. The childminder plans enticing activities that engage the children and extend their knowledge. The children are deeply engaged and concentrate for long periods in their play. The childminder has created a highly ambitious curriculum for all children. She identifies any gaps in learning with precision and ensures that every child is supported to meet and exceed their milestones. She involves children in their individual progress, and they celebrate their success together. Each child has a segmented caterpillar picture showing their learning journey, which they add to as they develop new skills. Children therefore develop excellent self-esteem and a thirst for knowledge.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The childminder promotes exemplary behaviour. Children have impeccable manners and behave very well, as they know the rules and what is expected of them. Children say 'please' and 'thank you' and cover their mouths when they cough. They share resources kindly with each other and notice, without adult intervention, when a friend needs support.
p.2
The provision is outstanding
The childminder is passionate about her work. She is highly skilled and experienced, and she supports her assistant to build on his experience. Together they work as a strong team and provide a highly consistent approach to support children's learning.

n Children demonstrate very positive attitudes to learning and listen intently to the adults. During a physical activity, they respond eagerly to the childminder's instructions to move their bodies in different ways as they stretch out their muscles. They build their core strength as they confidently copy the childminder's poses. n Partnerships with parents are very strong and highly effective. Parents speak highly of the information the childminder provides about their children's learning and development. They feel supported and know that their children are receiving an exceptional start in life. n Children develop a real love of books. They eagerly choose a book each week to take home and share with their families. This supports parents with home learning and helps to build a lifelong love of reading.

Children are comfortable using early scientific language. n The childminder skilfully uses a fun activity using a microphone to teach children how to listen and, when it is their turn, to speak confidently in front of others. Children are therefore adept at voicing their opinions eloquently with their peers. n The childminder and her assistant are excellent role models as they encourage children to be ever more independent. During role-play and dressing-up activities, they encourage children to realise when clothing is inside out and how to rectify it before trying again. Children are therefore incredibly independent with their self-care routines. n Children use scissors and rulers with ease. The childminder demonstrates how to draw straight lines at different angles, as the children discuss which is shorter or longer. This gives children an excellent start in early mathematical language. n The childminder assesses and tracks children to ensure that they progress
