Summary of outcome
Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills is leading Ofsted's work into how regulated early years and childcare providers in England have delivered child- centred practice and care, within the context of the restrictions placed on society during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.
p.1
Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage . If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 15 March 2021, the provider notified us about an incident which had occurred. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of a significant event.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 16 March 2021, we carried out a regulatory visit. We found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements. We suspended the provider's registration because we believe children may be at risk of harm. Suspension allows time for the provider to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The provider has a right to appeal against a suspension. The provider may not provide childcare for which registration is required while the suspension is in place and may commit an offence if they do so.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We have also served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions below within the timescales set out. We also found that the provider had failed to notify Ofsted of a different significant event, which is a requirement of their registration. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1
Summary of outcome
n make sure that records are completed to ensure the safe and efficient management of the setting, with particular regard to accident/incident records
p.1
Summary of outcome
n maintain an accurate record of children's hours of attendance. On 14 April 2021, we carried out a regulatory visit to monitor the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their last visit. We found that the provider had not sufficiently met the actions set.
p.1
Summary of outcome
The suspension remained in place while the Health, Education and Social Care First-tier Tribunal heard the appeal. The Tribunal allowed the appeal on 26 August 2021, and the suspension was lifted as it was appropriate to do so. However, our concerns about the provider's suitability remain.
p.2
Summary of outcome
We took steps to cancel the provider's registration. The provider objected to us taking this step. Having heard the provider's reasons for objecting to this step, we have decided to proceed with cancellation of the providers registration. The provider appealed to an independent external tribunal, the Health, Education and Social Care First-tier Tribunal. As a result of this, Ofsted revaluated their position and chose not to defend the appeal and did not continue to pursue cancellation of the provider's registration.
p.2
Summary of outcome
An inspection was carried out in January 2022 to further review the childminder's suitability and how she is meeting the legal requirements of the early years foundation stage and she received a good judgement. The inspection report provides more detail about the findings of this event. The provider therefore, remains registered with Ofsted.
