p.1
Context and focus of visit
Ofsted undertakes to carry out monitoring visits to all newly directly funded providers of apprenticeship training provision funded by the Education and Skills Funding Agency and/or the apprenticeship levy. This follow-up safeguarding monitoring visit has been carried out consequent to the provider being found to be making insufficient progress with respect to safeguarding at their previous monitoring visit. It follows the arrangements outlined in the ‘Further education and skills inspection handbook’.
p.2
Context and focus of visit
This is the first reinspection monitoring visit to Go Beyond Services Limited. In October 2022, inspectors judged the provider to be making insufficient progress in meeting the requirements of successful apprenticeships by ensuring that apprentices benefit from high-quality training and safeguarding.
p.2

p.2
Context and focus of visit
Go Beyond Services Limited is an independent learning provider. It is part of a larger organisation that provides consultancy and commercial training. At the time of the monitoring visit, eight adult apprentices studied on standards-based apprenticeships in level 5 improvement specialist or level 6 improvement leader. Go Beyond Services Limited has one subcontractor, which provides training for apprentices in English and mathematics.
p.2
Insufficient progress
Leaders have not developed a secure culture of safeguarding. They have made limited progress with regards to safeguarding since the previous monitoring visit. Leaders and tutors have not yet completed appropriate training to fully implement effective safeguarding arrangements. Leaders have not established relationships with external safeguarding agencies or those to whom they may need to report safeguarding concerns to support their understanding of risks.
p.2
Insufficient progress
Leaders recognise that they are not yet meeting all the requirements of the ‘Prevent’ duty guidance. Leaders have completed a risk assessment that identifies Monitoring visit: Go Beyond Services Limited, 1 March 2023 shortcomings. These now need to be addressed to ensure the effectiveness of safeguarding and the application of the ‘Prevent’ duty guidance.
p.2
Insufficient progress
Leaders and tutors do not support apprentices to improve their understanding of safeguarding and the associated risks. Leaders have not ensured that apprentices know who to contact in the event of a safety concern. Too many apprentices do not understand the risks of radicalisation and extremism.
p.3
Insufficient progress
Leaders have taken steps to ensure that subcontractors are meeting their requirements for safeguarding, although the process for this is not yet fully implemented. Leaders have received copies of staff’s Disclosure and Barring Service certificates and CVs, but they are not aware of other safeguarding training the tutors receive. Leaders do not review safeguarding during partnership meetings.
