This provision does not meet requirements

Children excitedly run, skip and talk to their friends as they make their way to the childminder's home. Despite the weaknesses in leadership and management, children show that they are independent, confident and safe. For example, they remind each other that they need to wait for the childminder when they are outside, so that she can always see them. They are welcoming, polite and warmly greet adults. Children follow a good hygiene routine. For example, they wash their hands when they come in from outside. They behave extremely well and show they understand the behaviour expectations. For instance, they set up the tables and chairs ready for their friends to have tea. However, children are not offered additional healthy options to support their snack time. They cooperate with each other and share ideas about what they would like to do. This helps build on their self-esteem and resilience skills.

p.3

Safeguarding

The childminder closely supervises children. Risk assessments are carried out before the children arrive and during trips to the school. The childminder understands possible indicators of abuse and neglect, and knows how to escalate concerns to the relevant professionals. However, the childminder has a poor understanding of other signs that a child may be at risk, for instance regarding female genital mutilation. The childminder completes mandatory training. For example, she keeps her paediatric first-aid training up to date. She shares policies and procedures with parents to keep them informed.
