p.1
This monitoring visit
Safeguarding practice has improved since the last inspection. Staff now receive regular supervision and have completed relevant safeguarding training in line with the home’s policies. Additionally, staff now receive training that is specific to the Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2691579 2 needs of the children in their care. The known and potential risks to the child currently living in the home are well understood by managers and staff. Risk assessments are clear and detailed. They are informed by the relevant agencies to ensure that staff take appropriate action to manage and reduce risk. This helps to support the child at time when they are vulnerable.
p.2
This monitoring visit
Key-work sessions now focus on children’s individual needs and are in line with their plans. They take place frequently, which ensures that they are relevant to the child and what is happening in their lives. This helps children to learn how to keep themselves safe. However, it is not evident that the child has contributed or is helped to understand their care plan.
p.2
This monitoring visit
A new management structure is in place to support the quality assurance of the home and strengthen management oversight. Leaders and managers have created new systems to understand the home’s strengths and areas for development. New systems provide effective monitoring and review of the quality of care provided to the child and help the leaders and managers to address any shortfalls.
