p.1

This provision does not meet requirements

n The childminder demonstrates a lack of commitment to developing a clear understanding of her role and responsibilities to meet the requirements of the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage' (EYFS). She has failed to undertake professional development opportunities and does not demonstrate the capacity to make the required improvements to raise the quality of provision on offer to children. n The childminder does not have sufficient understanding of safeguarding. She demonstrates a complete lack of awareness of the actions to be taken in the event of an allegation being made. This means that she is unable to take appropriate or timely steps if concerns of a safeguarding nature about her or a member of her family are received. n The childminder has failed to address actions raised at the previous inspection. She has not improved her knowledge and understanding of responsibilities under

the data protection legislation with regard to the information and records in place. For example, she has failed to register with the Information Commissioner's Office despite using electronic messages to record information and communicate with parents. n The childminder's knowledge and understanding of how to support children's learning is weak. She does not understand the importance of gathering information about children's starting points or how to use observations and assessments to inform planning. The childminder demonstrates some knowledge of activities that may support children's development, such as taking children to local parks to encourage physical development. However, she does not understand how to tailor activities or adapt her provision appropriately to meet children's individual needs and ensure they make the best possible progress. n The childminder's premises are safe and secure. For example, she ensures

safety gates are used to prevent children from accessing the stairs or wandering into the hallway. The childminder has the necessary car insurance, and the appropriate seats and restraints are in place to transport children to and from school safely. n The childminder demonstrates some awareness of the importance of building relationships with parents and other professionals who share the care of children. She explains how she has exchanged information to help provide continuity of care and to build on children's interests to support their learning.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
