Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 30 January 2023, we carried out an inspection and found the provider was not meeting some of the requirements of the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate requiring enforcement. The inspection report sets out the actions the provider was required to take to meet the requirements. Following the inspection, we served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take actions within the timescales set out.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 16 February 2023, we carried out a regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their previous inspection. During the visit, we found the provider had met some of the safeguarding and welfare actions but not others.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The provider had taken steps to ensure children were not exposed to risks. For example, staff were more vigilant and supervised children well. The nursery premises were secure and potential risks to children have been minimised. All children have a key person and a buddy key person. This means they are able to build relationships with familiar adults. Information about the key-person system is also shared with parents. The newly appointed manager has supported staff to help them manage children's behaviour. As a result, staff have started to use strategies such as distraction techniques, to help prevent unwanted behaviours. They also avoid using the word 'no'. During the visit, children were well behaved, and staff were attentive to their needs. However, we found that some staff were unable to fulfil the requirements of their role. For example, although staff were due to attend additional training to help them improve their practice, this training had not yet taken place. In

Summary of outcome

addition, the member of staff responsible for supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) was not aware of their individual needs. As a result, the support for children with SEND was not effective.

p.1

Summary of outcome

Additionally, during the regulatory visit of 16 February 2023, we found new areas of concern. Staff, including the designated safeguarding lead, did not have an up-to-date understanding of safeguarding issues. This put children at risk in the event of a child protection concern. Furthermore, systems were not in place to seek information about children's individual behaviours and/or interests. As a result, managers and staff were not alert to issues of concern in a child's life.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 23 February 2023, the provider resigned their registration and is no longer registered with Ofsted.
