This provision meets requirements

n Through discussion, the childminder explains her knowledge of the learning and development requirements and how she uses her ambitious curriculum to help children to gain the learning they need in preparation for their next stages in learning. This includes children with special educational needs and/or disabilities. n The childminder works with a co-childminder in her home. She uses the information she gains from parents, together with her own observations of children, to decide what to teach them next, building on what they know and can do so far. n The childminder has a vast range of resources, which she changes to meet the current needs and interests of the children. However, the organisation of resources and other additional items in play areas is cluttered. This could hinder children's independent learning and exploration. n The childminder has a good understanding of signs and symptoms that indicate

a child may be at risk of abuse. She knows the local procedures to report concerns about the welfare of a child. This includes if an allegation is made against her or a household member. n The childminder keeps her knowledge and training up to date. She attends additional child protection training to ensure she has a sound knowledge of a range of child protection matters. She maintains her paediatric first-aid training and knowledge. Through discussion, she shows she has a good understanding of the emergency action she would need to take in the event of a medical emergency. n The childminder is reflective. She has regular discussions with her co- childminder to evaluate their practice. However, she does not yet routinely seek the views of parents about the service they and their children receive, to contribute to this evaluation. That said, parents provided information, when asked. Parents said the childminder is caring and thoughtful and they are happy

with the information they receive about their children's learning progress. n The childminder explains the strategies she uses to manage children's behaviour. She explains how she helps older children to play together and to take turns. She says that she takes children out to play in larger groups of children to help them to develop their social skills. n The childminder explains how she helps children to develop tolerance and understanding of the similarities and differences between themselves and others in our communities. She provides various stories and activities to help children to respect those differences. n The childminder maintains the required documentation and ensures that it is detailed and accurate.

This provision meets requirements

24 January 2023 There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
