p.1
Inspected under the social care common inspection framework
p.1
Information about this children’s home
This home is operated by a private provider. It is registered to provide care for up to two children who may experience social and emotional difficulties.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
At the time of the visit, there was one child living in the home.
p.1
This monitoring visit
This home was judged inadequate at the full inspection on 9 and 10 November 2022.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Due to the safeguarding concerns identified during the full inspection, Ofsted’s view was that if further children moved into the home, it would compromise the safety of the child already living in the home as well as any new children moving in.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Therefore, Ofsted issued a notice restricting accommodation at the home. This notice had immediate effect, from 10 November 2022 until 2 February 2023.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The focus of this visit was to monitor the providers compliance with the restriction notice. During this monitoring visit, inspectors confirmed that the provider had complied with the conditions in the restriction of accommodation notice.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Since the last visit, two members of staff and the registered manager have left the company. The provider took immediate action to appoint an interim manager. However, an application to register has not been received. The long-term management arrangements for the home are therefore uncertain. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 2630055 2 The interim manager, deputy manager and staff helped to prepare the child to spend time with family members over the Christmas period. This plan was agreed with the child’s social worker.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The provider submitted an action plan in respect of the requirements made at the last inspection. These requirements have not been considered as part of this monitoring visit but will be reviewed at the next full inspection.
p.2
This monitoring visit
A case review was held following this visit. A decision was made that for the restriction of accommodation notice to remain in place. This is to allow the provider time to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced manager and stabilise and support the staff team.
