This provision does not meet requirements

n The childminder does not have a secure knowledge of safeguarding. She is not aware of the local safeguarding partnership procedures to follow to raise a concern about a child. The childminder is unable to demonstrate an understanding of safeguarding issues, such as county lines and radicalisation. As a result, the childminder would not be able to recognise the possible risks to children's welfare. n The childminder has not kept her mandatory training up to date. She does not hold a current and valid paediatric first-aid certificate. This does not assure children's safety and well-being if she were to be caring for children. In addition, the childminder's public liability insurance has expired and she has not taken steps to renew this. n The childminder is unable to demonstrate a good level of knowledge of the learning and development requirements of the statutory framework. She does not understand how to support children to make progress across the seven

areas of learning. However, the childminder is aware of the requirement to complete a progress check for two-year-old children. She explains how she would complete regular assessments of children's progress to identify any gaps. n The childminder describes how she would work in partnership with parents to support children. For example, she explains that she would share regular information with parents about children's progress. The childminder says that she would speak to parents to find out about children when they join her setting. n The childminder is confident in how to support children with English as an additional language. She is able to describe the strategies she would use within her setting. For instance, she explains she would use visual cues and learn some words in the child's home language to enable two-way communication. n The childminder recognises the importance of teaching children to be

independent. She explains that she would encourage children to do things for themselves, such as put on their own coat and shoes. n The childminder demonstrates a secure understanding of how to promote diversity within the setting. She explains that she would teach children about different traditions, cultures and religious festivals to help broaden their understanding of the world around them.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
