This provision does not meet requirements

n The childminder does not have a sufficient knowledge and understanding of the requirements of the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'. She has not maintained the improvements seen at the last inspection and several breaches of requirements were found at this inspection. The childminder has lost important documents relevant to her registration. She does not undertake appropriate training to ensure that her practice continually improves. n Children's safety cannot be assured. This is because the childminder has failed to identify and remove hazards from her home and garden. For example, in the kitchen children could easily access cleaning materials. Storage cupboards have been overloaded and remain unlocked, posing a risk of their contents falling on a child. The environment is not welcoming to young children, children cannot access toys and equipment that would support their development.

This provision does not meet requirements

n The childminder does not have a secure understanding of how young children learn and develop. She has limited understanding of the requirements she must meet for assessing children's progress. For example, her expectations of two- year-old children are not focused on the key areas that underpin all their development. n Although the childminder has recently completed safeguarding training, she does not know how to manage and report safeguarding concerns, such as an allegation made against her. She has not gathered sufficient information from parents to ensure that she is able to respond in the event of an emergency. For example, she has failed to take contact details for both parents, and other adults authorised to collect children.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
