This provision meets requirements

n Children's individual needs are assessed regularly. This allows the childminder to showcase her purposeful curriculum design using a child-led approach. Having high expectations for all, the childminder knows to plan appropriate activities to support children's learning and development. She has effective systems in place to identify any gaps in learning and plan meaningful next steps. n Safeguarding is a priority for the childminder and she understands how to keep the children in her care safe. The childminder has completed a range of training to deepen her understanding of identifying the signs and symptoms of children being drawn into radical views or child criminal exploitation. She knows the procedures for reporting any concerns to the relevant local authorities. n Effective teaching methods enable the childminder to support children when they are learning to understand the importance of oral hygiene. For instance,

she uses the story 'The Boy Who Hated Toothbrushes' and further activities to enhance children's understanding. n Working in partnership is a priority for the childminder. She recognises the value of working closely with parents and other professionals to help promote continuity of care and learning. For instance, when completing the two-year assessment, if concerns are identified, they are shared with parents and the health visitor to ensure that everyone works collaboratively to meet the child's needs. n Children are supported to develop healthy lifestyles through healthy eating, and they are encouraged to try the childminder's wholesome home-cooked foods. Physical activity and spending time outdoors are actively encouraged and provided for. For example, the childminder provides opportunities for children to go on regular visits in the community and to the local parks. n The childminder has failed to notify Ofsted of changes to household members.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

This is a breach of the requirements set out within the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage'. Consequently, Ofsted has been unable to carry out the required suitability checks on individuals who may have contact with children. However, the childminder has carried out some suitability checks herself, including a Disclosure and Barring Service check, and has swiftly taken action to ensure the notification to Ofsted has been made. She ensures that other people do not have unsupervised contact with children. This demonstrates her ability to keep children safe.

p.2

This provision meets requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
