Information about this children’s home
The children’s home provides care for up to three children. At the time of this visit, no children were living in the home and the registration with Ofsted was suspended.
p.1
Information about this children’s home
There is no registered manager in post. A new manager has been appointed but is yet to start employment or apply to register. A new responsible individual has been appointed and has started in post.
p.1
This monitoring visit
The home’s registration was suspended in May 2022 following concerns about child safety. This monitoring visit was carried out to assess whether enough progress has been achieved for the suspension notice to be lifted or whether further measures are required.
p.1
This monitoring visit
Progress has been made in several areas. For example, the enthusiastic staff team has undertaken a good range of relevant training. Some work has been carried out both inside and outside the house, making it a welcoming and homely place for children to stay. Recent appointments have included a responsible individual, and a deputy manager, both of whom have considerable experience of working in children’s homes. However, a manager for the home was not due to start work until September. Ofsted awaits an application for her registration. A registered manager must be in post, to assure the safety of children by providing effective oversight and efficient leadership. Ofsted will reissue the suspension notice and will routinely reassess the situation.
