p.1
The provision is good
Children are cared for in the childminder's warm, welcoming and safe home. Children are happy, behave well and have strong bonds with the childminder. They are confident and familiar with the daily routines. For example, when it is snack time, children go to wash their hands and prepare their own snack. Children use safety knives, under the childminder's close supervision. They independently cut their own fruit and pour their own drinks.
p.2
The provision is good
Children have plenty of opportunities to play outside. They benefit from a large space with opportunities to develop their physical skills. For example, they love using the climbing frame and going down the slide. They enjoy playing with sand and use toy diggers to dig holes and transport sand to other areas. Children are eager to see their fruit and vegetables grow in the vegetable patch and are excited that the strawberries are almost ready to eat.
p.2
The provision is good
Children have access to a wide range of resources, both indoors and outdoors. For example, they choose to sort pom-poms into containers, matching the quantities to the numbers. They recall past events and use this in their play. For example, the children recently visited a farm and they bring this experience into their play as they use tractors and trailers to transport animals around to the farm house.

heritage of their peers, in order to develop their understanding of what makes them unique. n The childminder reinforces the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. Children eat a balanced diet, with fresh fruit, vegetables and water on offer throughout the day. Children acquire skills as they choose and prepare their own snacks. 14 June 2022 n The bond children have with the childminder is lovely. They are at ease around her and share stories from home as well as talking about things they have done together. For example, children enjoy using large bubble wands to create different-sized bubbles and children compare bubbles to the ones they made previously. n Children's communication is supported very well. The childminder and children engage in conversations throughout the day. The childminder models language effectively and supports children who speak dual languages. For example, when children hear a new word, they ask what it means. The childminder explains and gives examples of how to use it within a sentence. Consequently, children develop their vocabulary and learn how to structure sentences correctly. n Children use manners and share a mutual respect with the childminder. She attends safeguarding training on a regular basis to keep her knowledge up to date. The childminder ensures her home is safe and secure for children. She gathers information regarding children's allergies and dietary requirements as part of their settling-in process. The childminder uses gentle reminders to help children to keep themselves safe, for example when using the stairs and negotiating space when running outdoors.
