p.1
The provision is inadequate
Children's safety and welfare are compromised. The childminder fails to identify and remove risks in areas where children sleep unsupervised. In addition, the childminder does not ensure that she gathers key information about the children she cares for. This puts children with medical and dietary needs at further risk. Furthermore, the childminder fails to maintain records of information, such as records of children's attendance and information about accidents and incidents that have occurred.
p.2
The provision is inadequate
Although the childminder has carried out training on safeguarding and child protection, she does not know how to identify when a child may be at risk of harm. She also does not understand the procedures that she should follow if there was a complaint or allegation raised about her or a household member.
p.2
The provision is inadequate
Children are curious to explore. However, they do not have the required space available to them to be able to play and investigate, due to the poor arrangement of the environment. This does not support children who are learning to crawl and developing their early walking skills. Children's needs are not met as the childminder does not understand how to implement a curriculum that supports all children to learn. She fails to understand how to support younger children with their development. For instance, she encourages children to have dummies in their mouths even when they are happy and settled. This does not support their developing communication and language skills.

n The childminder puts children at significant risk of harm due to weaknesses in her understanding of risk assessment. She fails to identify and remove risks where toddlers sleep. Children can access cleaning materials, and heavy objects are stacked up on unsecure units above the cots that children sleep in. n The childminder does not ensure that she has a good understanding of children's individual needs. She fails to gather relevant information to help her to ensure that children are safe and that children's needs are met. For instance, she does not obtain information about children's health. In addition, she fails to maintain records of accidents and incidents that occur in her setting. n The childminder does not ensure that she provides children with the required space according to their ages. The environment where children play is cluttered, with little space on the floor for them to explore. The childminder does not

She fails to understand that she must maintain records of complaints raised to her to share this information with Ofsted. n The childminder does not consider the individual learning needs and interests of the children in her care. She does not provide challenging learning opportunities in all areas of learning to promote children's good progress. Children spend long periods in bouncy seats or cots and wander around with little engagement.

Children and are not supported to make the progress of which they are capable. n The childminder does not consider if she is able to meet the needs of all of the children she cares for at any one time. She does not give children the focus and attention they need. At times, children are put in cots where they cannot play, to allow the childminder time to change nappies and feed other children. n The childminder has failed to address the weaknesses in her skills and knowledge to raise the overall quality of the service that she provides. She lacks understanding of her responsibilities and has not taken action to develop her skills.
