p.1

This provision does not meet requirements

n Children's safety and welfare is compromised because the childminder does not monitor the quality of her provision well enough. This means a number of legal requirements are not met. n The childminder has not ensured that all the necessary information required from household members, who are completing suitability checks, has been provided. This means Ofsted are unable to confirm the suitability of all household members over the age of 16 years. n Despite initially completing training to meet the actions set at the previous inspection, the childminder has failed to sustain any improvement. Professional development is very poor. The childminder says she has not updated her knowledge for several years. She is not aware of changes to the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage. n The childminder does not have a sufficient knowledge and understanding of child protection issues, or the procedures to follow if she has concerns about a

child's welfare. She is unsure of the procedure to follow in the event of an allegation being made against herself or a member of the household and does not have a written procedure available. n The childminder does not hold a paediatric first-aid certificate. This places children at risk should first-aid treatment be required. n The childminder does not have the required public liability insurance. n Through discussion and during a tour of the premises, the childminder identified potential hazards, but has not taken appropriate steps to remove or minimise identified risks. n The childminder's knowledge of the learning and development requirements is poor. She says she knows she has not kept up to date and needs to complete all the training again. The childminder is unable to demonstrate how she would implement each area of learning to fully support children's learning and development. n Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates that she intends to provide

an inclusive service. This means she would never treat any child less favourably than another because of their race, religion, home language, family background, gender, special educational needs and/or disability. n The childminder demonstrates that she understands how to promote children's good behaviour through positive reinforcement.

p.2

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
