Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 8 June 2022, the provider notified us that a child had been given food to which they experienced a significant medical reaction. The notification means that the provider met their legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of a significant event, including the serious illness of any child while in their care.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 10 June 2022, we carried out a regulatory telephone call. We found that following the incident, the manager had taken immediate action to assure themselves that all children's dietary needs were known about and relevant information had been shared with all staff. They had improved procedures for reviewing enrolment forms and sharing information with staff to ensure children's individual dietary needs are known. This action helped them prevent further incidents. However, we found that the provider was not meeting another requirement. We issued an action for the provider to take. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

Summary of outcome

n provide all staff who are involved in the preparation and/or handling of food, with guidance on managing food allergies.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 29 June 2022, the provider responded to the action set. We found that training had been sought and a number of staff had been enrolled on allergen training to help improve their knowledge and understanding of managing food allergies.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare action raised. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
