p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit was carried out to monitor the provider’s actions to meet two compliance notices under regulations 8 and 21. The notices were originally served in November 2021. The notices were then monitored in December 2021 but were not met.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This inspection identified that the provider has still not taken sufficient action to meet the notice under regulation 8. A further notice will be issued under regulation 8 to address the ongoing identified shortfalls.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The compliance notice under regulation 21 was in relation to the poor quality of accommodation. At this monitoring visit, the inspector toured the building and did not identify any areas of concern. The flats were in a satisfactory state of repair. The manager has now introduced a system to ensure that staff check the cleanliness of the flats on a daily basis. Should any issues be identified, staff are now taking action to ensure that acceptable standards of cleanliness are maintained. This compliance notice has therefore been met. Inspection report for residential family centre - monitoring visit: Kaleidoscope Assessment Services 2 The compliance notice under regulation 8 was in relation to the centre being managed with sufficient care, competence and skill. Leadership of the service is still not effective. Internal monitoring still requires improvement. Although new processes to monitor quality and safety across the service have been introduced,

This monitoring visit

these are not yet being reviewed effectively by the leadership team. For example, although there is a daily checklist relating to the environment, there was no managerial oversight of the checks completed by staff to ensure that these are being completed to an acceptable and consistent standard.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The manager is still not addressing staff conduct issues effectively. There has been a further staffing issue that the manager has not addressed appropriately or maintained a clear audit trail of any actions taken. As a result, the compliance notice has not been met and a further compliance notice has been issued.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The other requirement made at the previous inspection, not subject to compliance, was not considered during this monitoring visit. This will remain in place until the centre’s next full inspection.
