The full inspection in December 2021 resulted in a judgement of inadequate overall. Following this inspection, Ofsted served one compliance notice in respect of the help and protection of children. A restriction of accommodation was also served. In January 2022, a monitoring visit took place to monitor the steps in the compliance notice and the restriction of accommodation. The management team had met the steps in the compliance notice and complied with the restriction of accommodation.
p.3
improvement to be good
This inspection has taken place without any children living at the home. There have been no children at the home since January 2022. Therefore, the evidence gathered relates to staff knowledge, rather than actual practice. There is no tangible evidence to demonstrate how staff have responded to matters that support children’s well- being and keep them safe. It is not possible to assess the children’s experiences or the staff’s care practices. Therefore, the inspection outcomes are largely based on observation, discussions and procedures.

p.3
improvement to be good
A recommendation relating to safer recruitment practice has been met. The safer recruitment policy has been updated to include the procedure for overseas checks on new staff. The management team has greater clarity regarding safer recruitment. Safer recruitment checks are now undertaken with a more comprehensive approach. This reduces the likelihood of unsuitable persons working at the home.
