Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 4 March 2022, we carried out an inspection and found the childminder was not meeting some of these requirements.

p.1

Summary of outcome

The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate with enforcement. The inspection report sets out the actions the childminder was required to take to meet the requirements. We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the childminder to take the actions set out within the inspection report. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 22 April 2022, we carried out an unannounced regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the childminder had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their last inspection. We found that the childminder had taken appropriate steps to address the majority of the actions. They had followed required procedures to notify Ofsted of the details of a new assistant, to enable checks to be carried out. They had also ensured that the proposed assistant is not allowed to work directly with the children until her suitability is determined by Ofsted. The childminder and her proposed assistant had completed appropriate paediatric first aid training. Additionally, the childminder had revised her mobile phone policy and took steps to ensure her assistants understand the issues and the procedures they must follow. These improvements help to ensure aspects of children's safety.

p.1

Summary of outcome

However, although improvements had been made to the security of the premises, we found that the childminder had not met the action set in the welfare requirement notice relating to risk assessment. We have served another welfare requirements notice. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this.
