Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.2

Summary of outcome

We found that the provider and overall manager were in the process of finalising an up-to- date safeguarding procedure. The lead practitioners for safeguarding had completed appropriate training and all other staff had completed on-line training, with a view to enhancing this through face-to-face training when courses become available. We found that children now have access to fresh drinking water as cups are washed and replaced throughout the day. Children now play outdoors every day. Arrangements for children with special educational needs and/or disabilities have been reviewed and action is being taken to work more effectively with parents and outside agencies to secure appropriate support for these children.

p.3

Summary of outcome

The new deputy manager demonstrated a good understanding of her role. The key person system has been thoroughly reviewed and strengthened. Children now receive consistent care even when their main key person is absent. Leaders and staff have reviewed the organisation of group activities to provide greater opportunities for children to take part or to engage in other activities. This has helped to meet the needs of those children who do not manage large group activities well. All staff now understand the importance of speaking to children in a calm and positive manner. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.
