Summary of outcome
All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage, which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.
p.1
Summary of outcome
On 9 February 2022, the childminder notified us that a child had suffered burns in her care. The notification means that the childminder met her legal responsibility as set out in the Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage to notify Ofsted of any serious accident, illness, or injury to, or death of, any child while in her care, and of the action taken. However, we believed children may be at risk of harm and we suspended her registration the same day. Suspension allows time for the childminder to take steps to reduce or eliminate the risk of harm to children. The information met our threshold for a child protection referral, and we referred it to the relevant local authority children's services. On 10 February 2022, we also received concerns that the childminder was not meeting some of these requirements.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We worked in partnership with other agencies and on 16 February 2022, following the conclusion of other agency involvement, we carried out a regulatory visit to the childminder. We found that, although some action had been taken to remove the immediate risks to children and we were able to lift the suspension, the childminder was not meeting some of the requirements. We served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the childminder to take the actions below within the timescales set out. The childminder will be able to give parents further information about this.
p.1
Summary of outcome
n take all reasonable steps to ensure that children in your care are not exposed to risks and demonstrate how you manage those risks to prevent children coming to harm
p.1
Summary of outcome
n keep a daily record of the names of children looked after on the premises and their hours of attendance.
p.1
Summary of outcome
We will monitor compliance with the legal notice at an inspection. The childminder remains registered with Ofsted.
