Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2623130 1 Registered provider: Beaufort Care Group Limited

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children's home

This children’s home provides care for up to three children with emotional and social difficulties. The home is operated by a private provider which has several other homes in the area.

p.1

Information about this children's home

There has been no registered manager since 17 December 2021.

p.1

This monitoring visit

During an interim inspection on 10 December 2021, Ofsted judged the home to have declined in effectiveness. A compliance notice was issued due to significant concerns about the leadership and management of the home. This monitoring visit was to review the steps the provider has taken to meet the compliance notice.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers have made changes to the leadership and staffing provision in the home. An interim manager is now leading the home, supported by other managers from within the organisation. Agency staff are no longer used. Instead, two permanent staff members from other homes have been temporarily redeployed to fill staffing vacancies. This provides consistency of care for children. Staff report that the home is calmer and more settled. One child told the inspector that the home is better and that they now feel more listened to.

p.1

This monitoring visit

Leaders and managers undertake frequent audits of case records and review the quality of documents. There is now clear evidence of documents being revised in response to audit findings. Documents contain relevant information and are updated in response to safeguarding incidents. Clear planning is now in place for a child who is due to move out of the home. Action has been taken to obtain a copy of their pathway plan. Inspection report for children's home - monitoring visit: 2623130 2 Following this monitoring visit, a case review was held, which determined that sufficient action has been taken to comply with the notice and no further enforcement action will be taken at this time. The requirements issued at the last inspection under regulation six and regulation 13 are now met. The additional requirements and recommendations previously raised will remain in place to be reviewed at the next full inspection.
