Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 1234432 1 Registered provider: Lytham Care Limited

p.1

Inspected under the social care common inspection framework

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home is privately owned. It is registered to provide care for up to two children. The provider indicates in its statement of purpose that it provides care for children who may have emotional and/or social difficulties or learning disabilities.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

The home has been without a registered manager since August 2021.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

Due to COVID-19, at the request of the Secretary of State, we suspended all routine inspections of social care providers carried out under the social care common inspection framework (SCCIF) on 17 March 2020. We returned to routine SCCIF inspections on 12 April 2021.

p.1

Information about this children’s home

We last visited this setting on 19 October 2021 to carry out a monitoring visit. The focus of that visit was to monitor and review the actions taken by the provider since the previous full inspection and to check compliance with the suspension notice that was issued on 7 September 2021. The report is published on the Ofsted website.

p.1

This monitoring visit

This visit took place to monitor and review the actions taken by the provider since the previous monitoring visit in October 2021. In addition, this visit was to check the provider’s compliance with the suspension notice that was due to expire on 29 November 2021.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The visit found that the provider has continued to comply with the notice to suspend its registration and there are currently no children living in the home.

p.1

This monitoring visit

There are plans in place to recruit a new manager to the home. However, recruitment remains ongoing. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 1234432 2 A new responsible individual has been appointed to oversee the running of this home. However, a full staff team is not yet in place, although recruitment is underway. A revised induction and training package is to be implemented once the provider has a new manager and staff team in position.

p.1

This monitoring visit

The inspector found that no actions have been taken by the provider following the previous full inspection in September 2021 to meet the requirements set and to address the serious shortfalls found. However, a newly appointed operations manager is in the process of compiling an action plan to be submitted to Ofsted in due course.

p.2

This monitoring visit

The home has remained closed since the notice of suspension was issued.

p.2

This monitoring visit

Ofsted has taken the decision to issue a further period of suspension that took effect on 29 November 2021. This is because we are not currently satisfied that the risks found at the previous inspection have been reduced. However, we will consider a variation request from the provider once this is received in writing. Ofsted will continue to monitor the actions taken by the provider and keep the notice under review as new information is received. Inspection report for children’s home - monitoring visit: 1234432 3
