This compromises children's safety and well-being. n The childminder does not have valid public liability insurance. This is a requirement of her registration. n Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates a suitable understanding of how to identify signs and symptoms of abuse and how to promote children's welfare. She knows how to record and report safeguarding concerns to the relevant agencies. The childminder knows where to report any allegations of abuse made against her or a member of her household. n The childminder explains how she will work in partnership with parents to find out about children's interests and learning when they first start attending. She understands how to make observations and use the information to assess

children's learning and progress. She knows how to plan activities to help children work towards their next steps in learning and to broaden their experiences as part of their preparation for starting school. n Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates how she will help children feel confident and emotionally secure in her home. She said she will encourage children to choose their own toys and activities and she will support them to be independent, helping with simple tasks such as preparing their own food. n The childminder explains how she will help children to manage their behaviour in a positive way. She said she will talk to children so they know the boundaries in her home, and she will encourage them to share, take turns and show consideration and respect to one another.

This provision does not meet requirements

There were no children in the early years age range present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no early years children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
