Summary of outcome

All early years providers must meet the legal requirements in the 'Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage', which you can find at www.gov.uk/government/publications/early-years-foundation-stage-framework--2. If we find that a provider is not meeting the requirements, we can take action to ensure they put matters right.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 15 October 2021, we carried out an inspection and found the provider was not meeting some of these requirements. The overall effectiveness of the provision was judged to be inadequate. The inspection report sets out the actions the provider was required to take to meet the requirements. We have also served a welfare requirements notice. This is a legal notice that requires the provider to take the actions within the timescales set out in the report. The provider will be able to give parents further information about this.

p.1

Summary of outcome

On 8 November 2021, we carried out a regulatory visit. The focus of the visit was to check whether the provider had met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised at their last inspection and set out in the welfare requirements notice.

p.1

Summary of outcome

We found that the provider had taken steps to improve staff deployment. With additional staff, the new manager has been able to take immediate steps to evaluate strengths and weaknesses within the provision. She has started to provide feedback to staff and hold meetings to help coach and improve the quality of care and learning that children receive. Changes have been made to the way that staff are deployed within the nursery. Staff have been assigned to work directly with key groups of children, to help ensure that the key person system can more effectively plan for and meet individual children's needs. Sleeping arrangements have been re-organised to ensure that children sleep in designated space and are directly supervised. Drinking stations have been set up and are regularly refreshed to help ensure children can access drinking water whenever they are thirsty. This is in addition to receiving drinks with their meals and snacks throughout the day, to help ensure children

are well hydrated. The new manager has taken prompt action to work with local partners in establishing nursery's role in safeguarding children. Designated safeguarding lead practitioners have received suitable training and the new manager has booked to enhance her training to an appropriate level. Additionally, the new manager, who is trained in working with chidlren with special educational needs and/or disabilities, has given immediate focus to accurately assessing, planning and seeking support for children who may need extra help with their learning and development, in line with the 'Special Educational Needs Code of Practice'. We are satisfied the provider has met the safeguarding and welfare actions raised. The actions relating to learning and development, set out in the report will be considered at the next inspection. The provider is still registered with Ofsted.

p.1

Publication of compliance action

We aim to ensure that the welfare of children and young people is protected in the services we regulate. The Childcare Act 2006 and accompanying regulations set out our responsibilities to regulate childminders and childcare providers. This includes the enforcement powers we have in relation to those registered providers who do not comply with the requirements for registration.

p.2

Publication of compliance action

We publish details of any actions we take, or the childminder or childcare provider takes to bring about compliance with requirements on our website for a period of five years.
