p.1
The provision is inadequate
Children are not kept safe and secure on the premises. They are able to open the front door without the childminder's knowledge, which does not protect them from harm. Their safety is placed at further risk as the childminder has a weak knowledge of child protection and wider safeguarding issues. In addition, children's records and hours of attendance are not recorded, as required. Children's learning and care is not shared with other settings they attend. This does not help provide a consistent approach in meeting their development needs. Despite this, children appear settled and content in the childminder's care.
p.2
The provision is inadequate
Children move confidently around the childminder's home, accessing the toys and resources of their choice. They cheerfully develop a game, using the play food and shop resources, telling the childminder that they have cooked themselves a 'roast dinner'. Children behave well and understand the childminder's expectations. For example, they follow instructions to wash their hands when they enter the house and use good manners when asking questions.
p.2
need to do better?
n Risk assessment is not effective. The childminder does not ensure that her home is kept secure while children are present. This does not safeguard children from harm. The childminder has failed to address weaknesses in the risk assessment arrangements since the last inspection. This shows that the childminder's capacity to sustain any previous improvements is weak. n Links with other settings children attend, such as schools, are not established. This limits opportunities for the childminder to gain a good understanding of children's interests and abilities. The childminder has also done little to improve her understanding of how children learn and develop. These actions were raised at the time of the last inspection. This shows that the childminder demonstrates limited capacity to improve. n The childminder has not obtained relevant information for some of the children she cares for and has not recorded their attendance. This does not keep children

safe in the event of an emergency. n The childminder remained closed during the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic. She kept in touch with the children and families through regular telephone calls. n Parents share that they feel confident in the care provided for their children. They feel their children enjoy their time with the childminder and that she understands their interests. n Children enjoy outdoor activities, including visits to various parks and playgrounds, with the childminder. They make use of her garden to play football and basketball. These activities help to support children's physical development. n The childminder talks to the children and encourages them to tell her about their

The childminder helps them to describe it and how they used it. n The childminder has taken some action to improve her provision since the last inspection. She has completed a training course about behaviour management and has adapted her approach to manage children's behaviour in a more positive way.
p.2
Safeguarding
The arrangements for safeguarding are not effective.
p.3
Safeguarding
The childminder demonstrates some understanding about the types of abuse and the signs and symptoms that might alert her to a child being abused. She understands her responsibility to refer any concerns to the appropriate agency. However, she is less knowledgeable about current safeguarding legislation and guidance, such as the 'Prevent' duty guidance. The childminder does not know how to identify children who are at risk of extreme views and beliefs. This does not protect children from harm.
