This provision meets requirements

n The childminder has worked hard to make improvements since her last inspection. She has attended training and conducted research online to develop her knowledge of child protection and the learning and development requirements. n The childminder can demonstrate that she understands the different types of abuse and the signs that may indicate that a child is being abused. This includes, female genital mutilation and breast ironing. She knows who to contact to seek advice and where to report any concerns. n Through discussion, the childminder can demonstrate how she plans a range of activities to promote children's learning and development. She describes how she takes into account children's individual interests and next steps in learning and extends activities to help children make progress. n The premises are safe and secure. The childminder shows that she carries out daily checks to ensure children's ongoing safety. She describes how children

practise evacuation procedures, so they can safely exit the premises in an emergency. n The childminder understands the importance of sharing information with parents. She shares information with parents every day through the use of a daily diary and verbal feedback. Through discussion, the childminder demonstrates how she shares information with other early years settings children attend or are moving on to. However, she does not share as much information about children's interests or stage of development when they move on to school. n The childminder discusses how she uses appropriate methods, such as distraction, to manage children's behaviour. She encourages children to share and take turns with each other. n Children's good health is promoted. The childminder describes how she helps children to carry out appropriate hygiene practices and provides healthy snacks of fruit.

This provision meets requirements

There were no children present when this inspection took place. The findings in this report are based on evidence gathered from discussions with those who care for the children and an inspection of the premises, equipment and relevant documentation. Where there are no children present, no judgement is made on the quality of the early years provision as there is no reliable evidence on which to assess its impact on children. The report states whether the provider continues to meet the requirements of registration.
